PAST Webinar /// How to plan for successful operations in the changing Mexican solar market?

Tuesday 25th June, 6 PM CEST // 11 AM Mexico City

The sleeping giant in Latin America has awaken to its solar potential without return. Since 2017, annual demand has eclipsed the rest of the region, with the 3GW mark being reached this January.  However, the Mexican solar fairytale hasn’t come without hardship. With record low awarded tariffs in the past tenders, solar operators have faced a hyper competitive LCOE environment. Amidst recent regulatory and policy changes and a pause on grid modernization plans , the industry is reinventing itself to become a global market leader in the years to come.

Agenda:

  • Key challenges and ongoing transformations in the Mexican solar market.
  • Market appetite for bilateral PPAs and the merchant model.
  • Hidden hurdles in financial models and sources of OPEX underestimation

In this webinar, the experts will reflect on the ongoing dynamics in the Mexican solar market and how these are shaping the course of the opportunities for solar in a competitive landscape. Furthermore, the focus will be on how to make financial models work to ensure long-term ROI under squeezed margins while reflecting on arising early operational issues.
