CEO of Macquarie owned renewable energy platform Centauro Energia in Mexico since May 2019. Previously CEO of Thermion Energy, a renewable energy development company in Mexico from September 2017. Previously Director of Development and Acquisitions from 2011 through 2017 at InterEnergy, a Latin American regional power company involved in development, acquisition and operation of power projects in nine regional markets.

Highly experienced executive in the development, construction, financing and operation of power projects. Broad experience of private equity funding experience at CEO, COO and Director level, having led multiple $100m+ transactions to succesful conclusion including managing large teams of staff and advisors. Have led >$2.5bn in transactions as lender or borrower with every mulitlateral and bilateral development bank operating in Latin America and many of the most prominent regional lenders. Recent work almost exclusively in the renewable space including projects in wind, solar PV, biomass, hydro and geothermal as well as participation in LNG terminal development and LNG delivery mechanisms through the region.

ESAÚL RAMÍREZ /// INFRASTRUCTURE FINANCING OFFICER - NADB
Mr. Esaúl Ramírez serves as Infrastructure Financing and Officer at the North American Development Bank (NADB), a binational lending institution headquartered in San Antonio, Texas. Owned in equal parts by the US and Mexican governments, NADB’s mission is to develop and finance sustainable infrastructure projects located on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border.

Mr. Ramírez has over 16 years of experience in the traditional and renewable energy sectors, including 9 years at NADB. In his current role, Mr. Ramírez is responsible for originating, structuring and closing Project Finance loans for renewable energy projects located on both sides of the US-Mexico border region.

During his tenure at NADB, Mr. Ramírez has worked on more than 20 successful transactions, totaling approximately 2 GW of solar and wind generation, including 4 transactions in Texas, representing over $4 billion in investment. Most recently, Mr. Ramírez led a syndicate of lenders in the closing of loan for a 250 MW wind project in Nuevo León, Mexico, the first Auction-related wind energy transaction post energy reform in Mexico for NADB.

Prior to NADB, Mr. Ramírez served in various capacities at New Mexico-based PNM Resources, Inc., an investor-owned energy holding company.

Mr. Ramírez earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree, Summa Cum Laude, and received his M.B.A. in Finance and International Management from the University of New Mexico.

Juan has acted as Ammper´s CEO since its founding. Before this role, Juan was a Director at INVEX Infraestructura for 6 years, focused in the development, financing and construction of more than a dozen infrastructure projects in Mexico. Before INVEX, Juan worked as an Associate at HAL Investments BV in Rotterdam, Barcelona and Sao Paulo. He graduated with honors from an MBA at The University of Chicago, specializing in analytical finance and holds a Civil Engineering degree from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City.

Es ingeniero eléctrico de la Universidad Iberoamericana con especialidad en sistemas de potencia. Cursó también una maestría en administración en el ITESM campus ciudad de México.
Fue fundador de Inelap, ahora parte del Grupo Arteche, donde permanece como socio. Es Senior Member del IEEE y miembro del CIGRE. Fue Vicepresidente de Caname y actualmente preside la AMENEER, la Asociación Mexicana de Empresas en Eficiencia Energética.
Funge como Consejero Consultivo de NAFIN en el Estado de México y en sus actividades docentes es profesor titular en la UNAM.
En 2015 fue nombrado Consejero Consultivo en la Comisión Reguladora de Energía.
Es coautor del libro: “Calidad de la Energía: Factor de potencia y filtrado de armonicas” publicado por McGraw-Hill. Tiene más de 15 artículos técnicos publicados en diferentes foros en México y en el extranjero. Fue el único latinoamericano que participó en la redacción de la norma IEEE 519-92: Recommended Practices and Requirements for Harmonic Control in Electrical Power Systems.
Contribuye en APQ, donde es socio, diseñando estrategias de negocio relacionadas con la calidad de energía.
Colabora como columnista de Energía Hoy con su columna Ideas con Brío desde hace más de 12 años. Escribe con regularidad una columna sobre vinos, además de importar, vinos italianos Jorge Zepeda Patterson, escritor y Premio Planeta de Novela en el 2015, lo describe como: “Espíritu libre montado en Excel; un bohemio con agenda”

Jonathan has over 12 years of experience in the energy sector. At Invenergy he leads the advocacy, outreach and engagement with policymakers and industry stakeholders and represents the company with executive and legislative bodies, regulatory agencies and regional trade associations in Mexico and the rest of Latin America. He is also responsible for the development, advocacy, and monitoring of policies, legislation and market rules in the region. Jonathan has a MSc in Technology Commercialization from the joint CIMAV-University of Texas, Austin program. He did his undergraduate in International Relations at Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México and has a diploma in Energy Law from the Escuela Libre de Derecho.

To date, GroundWork has directly contributed to the successful financing and installation of over 18GW of solar power in North America. Ann prides herself on assembling a diverse, versatile team of solar resource experts that are committed to client service and high quality systems and data.

Prior to GroundWork, Ann was an Executive Vice President with iCrossing, a digital marketing and interactive agency providing business solutions to Fortune 500 clients. She holds a BA in Economics and International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania.
